Psychology: PersonalityReliability: alpha 0.843 sample items
About this scale
A 14-item measure of consideration of future consequences with two factors: CFC-Future (concern for distant outcomes) and CFC-Immediate (concern for immediate outcomes).
Sample item(s)
“I consider how things might be in the future, and try to influence those things with my day-to-day behavior (future)”
“Often I engage in a particular behavior in order to achieve outcomes that may not result for many years (future)”
“My behavior is only influenced by the immediate (i.e., a matter of days or weeks) outcomes of my actions (immediate)”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.84. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
