About this scale

The concept "grit" has been made popular by the psychologist Angela Duckworth. It refers to "perseverance and passion for long-term goals" ( Duckworth and Quinn (2009 ). In 2007, Duckworth and colleagues published a 12-item scale and in 2009 a shorted 8-item scale which we use here ( Duckworth and Quinn, 2009 ).
