EducationReliability: alpha 0.78–0.91 across subscales3 sample items
About this scale
A 90-item Classroom Environment Scale (and validated short forms) measuring nine dimensions of classroom psychosocial climate: involvement, affiliation, teacher support, task orientation, competition, order/organization, rule clarity, teacher control, and innovation.
Sample item(s)
“Students put a lot of energy into what they do here.”
“The teacher takes a personal interest in students.”
“Students are clear about what will happen if they break a rule.”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.78–0.91 across subscales. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
