AI Tool Use Frequency
HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.883 sample items
About this scale
A multi-item measure capturing frequency, breadth, and depth of generative-AI tool use at work. Captures both extensive (number of tools) and intensive (hours per week) AI use.
Sample item(s)
“How many days per week do you use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) for work?”
“On a typical work day, how many hours do you spend using AI tools?”
“How many different AI tools do you use regularly at work?”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.88. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
Notes
Useful as exposure measure in AI–productivity studies.
