Attitudes Toward AI in Hiring
HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.884 sample items
About this scale
An applicant-side and HR-side measure of attitudes toward the use of AI in selection (resume screening, video interview analysis, gamified assessments). Captures fairness, dehumanization concerns, and acceptance.
Sample item(s)
“Using AI to screen job applicants is fair.”
“AI hiring tools treat candidates as data points rather than as people. (reverse for acceptance)”
“AI can make hiring decisions more objective than humans can.”
“I would feel comfortable being interviewed by an AI system.”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.88. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
