Bootstrapped Mediation (Preacher & Hayes)

HR & WorkReliability: statistical method4 sample items

About this scale

A non-parametric bootstrapping method for testing indirect effects in mediation models. Generates a confidence interval for the indirect effect a*b without assuming normal distribution. PROCESS macro by Hayes is the standard implementation.

Sample item(s)

“Specify mediation model: X → M → Y”
“Bootstrap 5,000+ samples”
“Indirect effect = mean of a*b across resamples”
“95% CI excluding zero supports mediation”

Reliability

Reported internal consistency: statistical method. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
