Employee Creativity (Zhou & George)
HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.963 sample items
About this scale
A 13-item supervisor-rated measure of an employee's creative behaviour at work — the production of novel and useful ideas, products, or procedures. Strongly used in innovation and leadership studies.
Sample item(s)
“This employee suggests new ways to achieve goals or objectives.”
“This employee comes up with creative solutions to problems.”
“This employee suggests new ways to perform work tasks.”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.96. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
Notes
Supervisor or peer ratings preferred over self-ratings to reduce social desirability.
