Organizational Dis-identification (Kreiner & Ashforth)
HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.843 sample items
About this scale
A 6-item measure of organizational disidentification — an active separation from the organization in self-concept, distinct from low identification. Captures the 'I am not what they are' dimension of organizational identity.
Sample item(s)
“I am embarrassed to be part of this organization.”
“I want others to know that I do not mix my identity with the organization's identity.”
“I would prefer working for a different organization.”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.84. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
Notes
Use alongside identification to test the four-quadrant identification × disidentification model.
