HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.923 sample items

About this scale

A 20-item self-report measure of sexual harassment exposure at work across three dimensions: gender harassment, unwanted sexual attention, and sexual coercion. Behavioural-frequency stem reduces self-labelling bias.

Sample item(s)

“Made offensive remarks about your appearance, body, or sexual activities (gender harassment)”
“Made you feel like you were being bribed with some sort of reward to engage in sexual behavior (coercion)”
“Repeatedly asked you for dates, drinks, dinner even though you said no (unwanted attention)”

Reliability

Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.92. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
