About this scale

A method for determining required sample size given effect size, alpha, and desired power. G*Power software supports t-tests, F-tests, χ², correlation, regression, ANOVA, and others.

Sample item(s)

“Specify test family (t-test, F-test, etc.)”
“Set effect size (Cohen's d, f, w)”
“Set alpha (typically 0.05) and power (typically 0.80)”
“Read off required N”

Reliability

Reported internal consistency: method. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
