Trust in Organization (Robinson)
HR & WorkReliability: alpha 0.863 sample items
About this scale
A 7-item measure of an employee's trust in the organization — willingness to be vulnerable based on positive expectations about the organization's behaviour. Used widely in psychological-contract research.
Sample item(s)
“I believe my employer has high integrity.”
“I can expect my employer to treat me in a consistent and predictable fashion.”
“I am not sure I fully trust my employer. (reverse)”
Reliability
Reported internal consistency: alpha 0.86. As a rule of thumb, Cronbach’s α ≥ .70 is considered acceptable, ≥ .80 good, and ≥ .90 excellent for established measures.
Notes
Pair with breach to test the trust-mediated path from breach to violation.
